Mint & Yogurt Chicken Bhuna
Chicken is more widely consumed than any other meat and it marries well with a variety of flavors, cooking methods and recipes. This particular recipe comes with a burst of flavors, and peps up your dining table in less than thirty minutes. The combination of yogurt and mint, gives a unique flavor to the dish. Serve this delectable chicken dish with hot rotis or rice.
Kitchen Notes:
Feel free to use chicken breast for this recipe. However, be mindful of not over cooking the chicken.
Remember that the chicken will release its own juices, so feel free to adjust the amount of water.
INGREDIENTS
2 lbs Boneless Chicken Thighs (cubed) 2 Tbsp Oil 2 Tbsp Ginger Garlic paste 2 Green Chilies (minced) ½ cup Yogurt (Whisked) 1 tsp Cumin powder 1 tsp Garam Masala powder 1 tsp Freshly Ground Black Pepper 2 tsp Lemon Juice ¼ cup Water ** 2 Tbsp Heavy Cream 2 Handful Of Fresh Mint Leaves
METHOD
Heat oil in a pan on medium heat.
Add the chicken pieces and fry for a bit. Then add the ginger and garlic paste.
Next add the yogurt and salt. Mix well and cook for 3-4 of minutes.
Add the green chilies, garam masala powder, cumin powder and black pepper. Stir and mix all the spices with the chicken.
Add the water. The chicken will release its own juices, so be mindful of the amount of water. Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes in medium-high flame. Stir the chicken occasionally.
Once the water evaporates and the chicken is fully cooked, add the cream and the fresh mint. Mix well and take it off the heat after 2-3 minutes.
Garnish with sprigs of mint and serve with rice or rotis.
